So you’ve decided you just want to work as a seller on eBay. There are a few points you really need to understand before you go and throw yourself into the deep.

As the market.

First off, you probably understand what it is you sell, what is your specialty? You do better on eBay you need an excellent source for specific types of items, as individuals who are enthusiastic about these items will return to you again and again. You will not receive any loyalty or real reputation if you just random crap on the market.

When you consider what the market, there are a few things to think about. Chief among these is to always market what you know. If you try to market something you just do not know anything about then you’ll never write a good description and the market for a good price.

You may believe that you are not particularly interested in something, but when you consider what kind of things you usually buy and which websites you go to most, I’m sure you explore a kind of interest. If all else fails, call it to your friends and family: they’ll almost certainly say, “Oh, well why do not the market Manuka honey or something …”, and you’ll slap your forehead.

The things you know enough about, you should examine the things you really could get a good enough price, and how they would be suitable for posting. If you are able to believe in some thing that you are familiar and it’s small and light enough for postage to be relatively cheap, then that’s excellent!

Do not worry, you believe that the point you’re selling is too obscure – it is not. There is a market for almost anything on eBay, even things that would not when the market in one year if you stocked them in a store. You’ll probably do better if you fill a niche than if you market any other thing in common.

Tax and legal matters.

If you have enough money, you should be aware that you are going to have to start paying tax – this will not be done for you. If you determine to sell on eBay on a full-time basis, you should probably register a company.
