Apple says that $20 billion were made by App Store developers in year 2016 which is 40% more as compared to 2015. Customer purchases of $240 million were made in total at New Year’s Day on Apple Store, according to the company.

The most earning apps of the year were told by company that includes Fantasy Westward, Monster strike, Pokemon Go and Clash Royale. The most downloaded app on New Year’s Day and Christmas was Super Mario Run. Total of $3 billion was spent by customers in December on the App Store.

It was told by Apple’s senior VO Worldwide Marketing Philip Schiller that 1^st January 2017 was the single biggest day for purchases on App Store while 2016 was also a record breaking year with generation of $20 billion for developers.

According to Apple, the names of independently developed apps that earned most in 2016 were Reigns, Prisma, Lumino City, Procreate, djay Pro and Sweat with Kayla.

For fight against AIDS and World Wildlife Fund, Apple raised $17 billion for the campaigns named “Product (Red)” and “Apps for Earth Program” respectively.

HBO Now, Netflix, MLB.com and Tinder are the apps with subscription fee for which Apple’s total revenue in 2016 remained $2.7 billion that was 74% more as compared to 2015.

The new iMessage App Store was also mentioedn by Apple as the users can now install 21,000 iMessages apps.
